Election Resource Roundup – Week 7

In preparation for the 2024 Presidential Election, The Elections Group is teaming up with experts in the industry to highlight resources for election administrators. This weekly series will showcase resources from The Elections Group, paired with resources from other organizations in the elections space. Every four weeks, we will focus on a different topic, and we’ll take a deeper dive into the resources available each week. Whether you’re a seasoned elections administrator looking for resources in the field, or if you’re new to the role, these maximum 30-minute sessions will be a quick introduction to resources curated for you.

Featured Resources:

  • The Election Group’s Creating a Media Guide Template is a helpful tool for election offices to make sure journalists and other newspeople have access to important information about elections. This resource is a quick copy-paste template to place on your website and fill in your jurisdiction’s information. There are suggested headers and subheaders included. Then you just add in your information. The template includes your contact information, important dates and deadlines such as candidate qualifying deadlines, mail ballot request and return deadlines, first and last days of early voting, and election day. There’s an option to include a schedule of events for your office, press releases, vendor information, etc. This is helpful for the media, and voters, to be able to find a lot of answers to their questions quickly.
  • NASED’s Election Communications Toolkit is a library of materials for election offices in both English and Spanish. NASED partnered with the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) to create:
    • Customizable social media graphics for Facebook/Instagram and X,
    • Short animated videos, and
    • Election-specific media literacy tip sheets.
